Summary of meeting held Friday, March 30th 2012. 15 minutes.
News:
-After talking with campus safety, URI has said they will NOT allow us to store airsoft equipment on campus. We are still looking into off-site equipment storage.
-We have received our $1,500 budget from the student senate. The President is currently working on having the money transferred into the club's account so we can spend it.
-We have worked out an agreement with Lenny, owner of the Extreme Complex, to provide discount passes for students. An admission to Extreme with rental costs $35. The student passes will be $15 (including rental if you need one). Passes will be released in blocks on 25 passes a day and will be sold at the union box office. Passes will be available once the club negotiates a final price with Extreme on the club's cost for the passes.
-There are upcoming airsoft games at both the Extreme Complex and with the Exeter/West Greenwich airsoft team. For event details and more information, see the club Facebook.
Formal Proceedings:
Elections were held for executive positions. Newly elected officials will take office at the end of the semester. The executives of the URI Airsoft Club are:
President: Jake Bromberg
Vice President: Nick DiCecco (re-elected)
Treasurer: Zack McGraw
Secretary: Cole Wagner (re-elected)
Because of the decision by the university to not allow the storage of airsoft equipment on campus, all club members (including off-campus student) will be required to sign a contract stating we understand the rules in the student handbook and will not bring and airsoft equipment on to campus.
I think thats all for now. If I made any mistakes, forgot anything, or got any names wrong, just post below. Keep an eye on the Facebook for upcoming meetings and events. Also, be sure to post your contact information to the Facebook page. And lastly, VP DiCecco was nice enough to set up the editboard, so start using it!
